Honestly?

Two days. That is all that it took for Mr. Gardiner to find Lydia without my presence. Oh, if I had been there. She really would have felt my wrath. And now that scoundrel Wickham is making me pay him to marry my daughter! Whatever. The family reputation is very important and there is no reason to risk it.

  1. I agree with the letter sent to you from Mr. Collins. Lydia would not be in her current situation if it wasn't for you & your wife. As a matter of fact, the rest of your daughters would have been married by now if you knew how to properly raise them. Real Talk.
